Let's Get Acquainted
This blog is born out of my experiences of being a guy in Austin trying to find guy stuff to do. I found very quickly most of the content was either rather generic or written mainly by female foodies. While I respect all the food bloggers around Austin, I still couldn't find my go-to for certain things. I found a lot of lists to be repetitive and kept seeing the same places over and over again. This blog isn't going to completely differ from that because, hey, if a place is good it's good but one thing will be different. These places will be vetted by me! I'm a basic dude, I like burgers, steaks, pizza, and beer. I like basic cocktails, although I do admit I'm a sucker for a good espresso martini. I am a ramen addict and am partial to Asian food in particular. I am also a bit burned out from tacos and barbecue so while I'll showcase those items on this blog here and there, they won't be a main focus because quite frankly almost everywhere in Austin offers tacos and queso or barbecue and I created this blog for the other cuisines Austin has to offer.
If you've stumbled across this guide, I hope you'll find these guides useful. As of now, I am not being paid at all to promote certain places or brands, so everything you see here is 100% authentic. If I ever do partner with someone, I'll make clear to note that bias in the guides for full transparency. I truly believe going out and mingling with other humans, whether it's grabbing a meal together, meeting for happy hour or a coffee, or taking a long walk around Town Lake is the best way for us to keep our sanity and life in perspective. Food and drink is completely subjective so I can only promise to make recommendations based on what I like and if you happen to like it too, then all the better.
